Ford Brodeur TS #13

Date / Time :      10/31/17   3:45pm
Location : CIES Centre
Topic / Skill : Adverb Clauses , Dependent v.s. Independent clauses, sentence structure
Feedback Given to the Tutee : I met with Mardoli upstairs in a classroom to discuss issues that she had with writing. I met her the day before and she asked me to structure the tutoring session in a way that it can really help her out. We discussed what were the key elements of independent and dependent clauses for the first part of the session. Then we dove into her issue of writing complex sentences. I gave her a sample issue to write about and then we discussed how / what errors she had in the piece.
Lessons learned : I was impressed by Mardoli's determination to learn. She was very focused at the topics at hand and she would sometimes get frustrated by her mistakes. She has told me that she has reached a plateau and she is trying really hard to get out of it. I have never been on a linguistics plateau, but I am sure it is extremely difficult.
