Feedback given to the tutee : For the first part of the session, I met with Hassan (?) and we discussed his homework. He was confused between "his" and "he is". I told Hassan that these terms dealt with either possession (his) or simply adding details (he is __. ). I gave Hassan several practice problems on whiteboards in order to help him understand it more.  Hassan then had a question of the function of "-ing". I told Hassan that "-ing" dealt with verbs that are occurring at a specific point in time. Hassan was in group 1 for reading so I did not elaborate on all the types of time in which they are used (past or future). I asked Hassan to think of "-ing" as a verb in the present. I wrote out several words on the whiteboard and asked him to pick out the ones that can be used for "-ing". He was successfully able to distinguish which words are which. After meeting with Hassan, Mardoli (?) came and asked me several questions about her writing. I read over her paper and I told her that her biggest issue was sentence structure. She agreed and said that sentence structuring was a skill that she need work on. We exchanged numbers/contact information.
Lessons learned : I feel like the more I am doing tutoring sessions, the more fluid it becomes. I can feel a change from when I was first starting tutoring and now where I have gotten some experience under my belt. I feel confident on my 1 on 1 tutoring, but my confidence for a classroom environment is still lacking I think.
