CO #1
Date/Time: September 7th
9:00 AM
Topic/Skill: Grammar 4
Teacher Presentation: Mr. Wilson had the agenda written on the
board before class even began. There
were at least six things on the agenda, which was too much to do in the fifty
minute. He explained later that the fast pace class prevented boredom from the
students and none of them were on their phones or distracted. To start the class he asked everyone to
introduce themselves to me and Micaela and explaining what their plans are
while using either “I plan on” or “I hope to be.” He then went over some pages in a workbook
and an extra handout with examples similar to discussing what one hopes to
do. He let the students work together on
the worksheet and made sure that the groups of two did not speak the same
language. Then he went over the
worksheet with the entire class.
Classroom Management: Mr. Wilson kept a really fast pace so that
the students had no time to be bored.
Materials: A
workbook, worksheet and a whiteboard
Student Participation:
The students all participated at the beginning of class by introducing
themselves and then later with a group activity and again with the entire
class.
Feedback Provided: He
pointed out several “Beautiful little mistakes” but otherwise mostly just
encouraged the students to speak up and communicate clearly.
Lesson(s) on teaching
you learned: I learned how being organized can lead to an extremely productive
and easy class.
