Topic/Skill: Past Continuous Tense/Pronunciation
During Saeed and I’s second meeting, we worked again on
grammar. We started by talking about what we had done the day before, trying to
incorporate the past continuous tense. We did a couple of activities to try use
this tense in conversation as well. We also worked on his pronunciation using
his worksheet on vowel sounds. Feedback was given while correcting mistakes
using the continuous tenses and explaining the reasons why it was incorrect.
This was my first time trying to really incorporate specific activities into
the session, which proved more difficult in practice than in theory, and even
when we went over that he should use a specific tense and why, he would quickly
fall back into old habits of not using them. However, having at least a basis
for different activities is really useful to make sure time is used
efficiently.
