Saeed and I spent the first few minutes introducing ourselves. He is from Kuwait. His main motivation for studying English is to take the IELTS exam and study Civil Engineering.  He seemed pretty advanced as far as basic communication, but he needs the most help with grammar, especially continuous and perfect tenses, which he confirmed. It was a bit easier to get into the tutoring aspect than my first tutoring session because he knew exactly what he needed help with.
Feedback Provided: I helped him work through one of his homework assignments which was understanding vocabulary through context, basically attempting to lead him to the correct answer by working through each sentence with him. We also went over the present and past continuous tenses.

Lessons Learned: While it seems straightforward to explain a tense, it actually proved to be pretty difficult given the examples/questions that he would ask, and, even when he understood the concept behind the grammar, that doesn’t mean that mistakes weren't still made when applying them.
